SAGDB youngsters get geared up
“Gear Up Our Kids”, a nationwide project run by Let’s Play and Mr Price has, donated 15 000 units of golf equipment to the SA Golf Development Board (SAGDB). The equipment will be distributed to all of the development board’s regions.The “Gear Up Our Kids” programme was run earlier this year to collect unused sports equipment from the public. Over 600 drop off points were placed at Mr Price and Mr Price Home stores around the country to collect any unwanted sporting equipment.The campaign encouraged the public to clean out their cupboards and garages and donate any sporting goods unearthed to schools, clubs, sports teams and organisations in need of equipment. The SAGDB was selected as a beneficiary in support of its development programme around the country. As the officially recognised body responsible for junior golf development in South Africa, the board has ten operational regions in five provinces.The SAGDB’s programmes support over 3 000 children nationwide, offering them hands on coaching and life skills development.
