Nkosinathi selected to represent Ekhuruleni
Nkosinathi Dauwa, one of the promising youngsters in the SA Golf Development Board (SAGDB) programme in Ekurhuleni, has been chosen to represent his province at the SA Boys u/14 tournament at Kloof Golf Club in Durban from 28 June to 1 July. 14 Year old Nkosinathi lives in Dayveton and is a grade 7 learner in Mpengesi Primary School. He has been developing his golfing skills with the SAGDB since the age of nine.The national SA Boys u/14 tournament, which is run by the SA Junior Golf Foundation, is the biggest tournament of the year for players in this age group. Nkosinathi is one of six boys chosen from the Gauteng East region based on the province’s order of merit. He is currently playing off an eight handicap.About the SAGDBFounded in 1999, the SA Golf Development Board (SAGDB) is the only body officially tasked with growing the game of golf in South Africa. The SAGDB is a non-profit organisation (with section 18A donations tax exemption status) and is fully endorsed by government and all of South Africa's official golfing bodies. Through its PGA-approved coaching programme, the board currently has the capacity to coach 3,500 children per week in ten regions. The SAGDB is sponsored by SAA, City Lodge, the Pro Shop, ProRange and ExpandaSign.
