SAGDB graduate and coach Siyanda Mwandla is establishing himself as one of the country's top amateurs"

Siyanda secures a top 10 at Selborne

SAGDB graduate Siyanda Mwandla is continuing to move his way up the national order of merit. The KwaZulu-Natal player, who is also a coach for the development programme near Durban, claimed sixth place at the KZN Open Strokeplay Championships played recently at Selborne Golf Club.

Siyanda carded rounds of 67, 73, 76 and 70 to finish on two-under par. He was one of only seven players to break par for the tournament.

A string of good performances has now moved Siyanda up to 14th on the national open order of merit.

“Siyanda was identified by the SAGDB at the age of 13 in a rural Ilembe district near Mandini Golf Club outside Durban,” recalls the SAGDB's development manager for KZN, Joseph Kunene. “We are very proud of what he has achieved and our up-and-coming development players all look up to him.”
