Strong showing for Neswill

Boland's Neswill Croy is moving up the order of merit

SAGDB graduate Neswill Croy from Stellenbosch put in an excellent performance at the recent Western Province Amateur Championships at Clovelly Country Club. He was amongst the top players in both the stroke play and match play events.

In the stroke play championships the Boland golfer shot rounds of 68, 70, 69 and 70 to finish on 11-under par and in a tie for third, just one shot behind the winner. Neswill was one of only two players to break par in all four rounds.

That performance put him through to the match play event as one of the top 32 qualifiers. There he got as far as the quarter finals, where he lost 4 & 2 to the eventual winner, Jovan Rebula.

Neswill is currently in ninth place on the Boland Order of Merit, vying for a spot as one of the eight players that will be selected to represent the province at the annual inter-provincial tournament.
