SAGDB presence felt at Riversdal Triangular

Riaan Grootboom was part of the victorious Southern Cape u19 team at this year's Riversdal Triangular

Ten players from the SAGDB competed at the recent Riversdal Triangular tournament that featured u19 and u17 teams from Western Province, Boland and the Southern Cape. All three provinces included SAGDB players in their teams.

Riaan Grootboom and Hans-Jurie Human were part of the Southern Cape u19 team that won the competition. Hans-Jurie had a particularly good event, winning both his singles matches playing in the number one position, and teaming up with Riaan to beat WP in both the foursomes and the fourball match-ups.

Boland finished just a single point behind in second place in the u19 event. Clinton Jansen and Willie Olivier were both part of this side.

For WP, Hilmi Mallick and Craig Baba were part of the u19 team. Hilmi is only 15 and Craig 17, so they still have a number of years ahead of them at this level.

In the u17 tournament, Boland were runaway winners. One of the SAGDB's young stars, 15-year old Riaan Rooi was part of the victorious team.

There were three SAGDB players in the WP u17 team - Marcello van Rooyen, Ridaah America and Abduragmaan Adams. Marcello was the only member of the WP team to win both of his singles matches.
