Southern Cape girls impress
Dionique du Plessis, Clarisa Lamprecht
and Chandre Roberts |
Three players from the SA Golf Development Board put in strong performances at the recent Southern Cape Amateur Championship. 16-year old Chandre Roberts from Heidelberg, 15-year old Charisa Lamprecht from George and 14-year old Dionique du Plessis, also from George, were not overshadowed by their more experienced opponents.
Chandre carded a 36-hole score of 176 to finish second in the B division. Her score was also the best in the division's closed section, which was limited to players from the Southern Cape.
Charisa and Dionique both competed in the C-section of the competition. Charisa went home with the second best gross price, for her score of 197, while Dionique was also in the prizes after carding a score of 201.
"The girls did really well," said the SAGDB's development manager for Southern Cape, Johan Erasmus. "The best amateur women players in the country took part in this event, including two of the current SA Women's team." |
