SAGDB youngster gets first taste of provincial competition

Chandre Roberts was selected for the Southern Cape women's golf team

16-year old Chandre Roberts was the surprise selection for the Southern Cape women's golf team that competed in a recent triangular tournament against Western Province and Boland in Plettenberg Bay. Chandre was chosen for the team after impressing coach Val Holland at provincial squad practices.

The six woman team competed in both stroke play and match play format.

Chandre carded a round of 91 in the morning stroke play event, before teeing off in the three-way match play. The ten handicap player fought her more fancied two handicap opponent all the way to the 17th hole.
