Boland SAGDB graduates continue to shine

Two of the top players produced by the SA Golf Development Board (SAGDB) in the Boland region are continuing to reach new heights in the sport. 20-year old Cedric Rooi and 19-year old Jacquin Hess were both selected to the u/23 Boland provincial team, and will compete at King David Golf Club in the inter-provincial tournament in April.

Rooi, who is currently playing off a scratch handicap, is lying sixth on the provincial u/23 order of merit, while Hess, who is down to a two handicap, is seventh.

"The other youngsters in Boland see these two as role models and are inspired to change their own lives through golf," says the SAGDB's development manager for Boland, Andre Rossouw.

Both youngsters are also hard at work on their academic careers. Rooi is studying a higher certificate in accounting and Hess is studying human resource management, both at Cape Peninsula University of Technology.
